MY APPROACH

Therapy that helps get you unstuck.

You’re probably pretty good at figuring things out.

When something isn’t working, you think about it, look at it from different angles, and try to understand what you’re missing. Usually, that works.

But sometimes you can’t think your way out of something. You replay conversations, go back and forth on decisions, question yourself, or keep coming back to a problem you’ve already thought about a hundred times. The more you try to figure it out, the less clear you feel. You get stuck in your head, and your life starts getting smaller around it.

You may already have a lot of insight. Maybe you’ve been in therapy before and understand where some of your patterns come from. But knowing why you do something and knowing what to do differently aren’t always the same thing.

That’s where I tend to look closer. I’m paying attention to what keeps happening, where you get stuck, and what you’ve already tried. There isn’t one formula I use with everyone. We might need to ask a different question, build a system that actually works for your brain and your life, change a behavior, make a decision, or learn to let something feel uncomfortable without immediately trying to fix it.

Therapy should make a difference outside of the hour we spend together. You should be able to notice something changing in your actual life.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Areas I Specialize in

Diagnosis can be useful context. It isn’t the whole person, and it isn’t automatically the whole problem.

OCD & Obsessive Thinking

Obsessions Compulsions Mental reviewing Reassurance seeking

OCD and obsessive thinking can show up in a lot of different ways, and the compulsions aren’t always visible. You might find yourself checking, seeking reassurance, replaying conversations, mentally reviewing, or trying to answer a question that never seems to stay answered. I work with different presentations of OCD, including internal compulsions that are often missed, and help clients understand what keeps the cycle going and how to respond differently.

ADHD

Executive functioning Overwhelm Systems Daily life

ADHD is more than being distracted or struggling to stay organized. You might know exactly what you need to do and still not be able to make yourself start, build a system that works until it suddenly doesn’t, or spend so much energy trying to keep up that you’re constantly overwhelmed. I help adults understand the patterns behind what isn’t working and build realistic ways of managing life with ADHD, without treating their brain like the problem.

Autism & Neurodivergence

Unmasking Burnout Sensory needs Relationships

Autism isn’t something that needs to be fixed in therapy. The struggle is often living in a world that wasn’t designed with autistic people in mind. Therapy can be a place to fully unmask and work through things like burnout, relationships, boundaries, sensory needs, or the impact of being misunderstood or treated as less capable than you are. The goal isn’t to make you more neurotypical. It’s to help you build a life that works for you.

Anxiety

Overthinking Avoidance Decision-making Uncertainty

Anxiety isn’t always the obvious feeling of being anxious. It can show up in how much you prepare, avoid, second-guess yourself, put off decisions, replay things, or try to make sure you’re making the right choice. A lot of that can feel helpful in the moment, which is part of why the pattern can be hard to see. We look closely at what anxiety has you doing and what keeps it going, so it can take up less space in your life and have less say in the choices you make.

Complicated Relationships

Relationship patterns Control Boundaries Trusting yourself

Sometimes you know something in a relationship doesn’t feel right, but you’re not sure what to call it or what you want to do about it. I work with people navigating complicated relationship dynamics, including controlling relationships, emotional abuse, relationship abuse, and domestic violence. You don’t have to use any of those words for your own relationship, and therapy doesn’t have to be about leaving. We can look honestly at what’s happening, make sense of what feels confusing, and figure out what you need without me deciding what your relationship means or what you should do about it.

Complex Trauma

Past experiences Relationships Triggers Patterns

Complex trauma has a way of kicking up dust from the past when you least expect it. Something happens in a relationship, at work, or in everyday life, and old experiences start influencing how you feel, react, or make decisions. We look at what’s coming up, put it in context, and understand why it’s affecting you now. Over time, those moments can happen less often, feel less intense, and have less power to make your life smaller.
